I'd like to share my story.
Early 2000s. I was a programmer working for a large media company based in New York City. One of my duties was to help our editors and writers create forms. Day in, day out I helped them make forms. Loads of them. I came up with tools to automate things.
I became familiar with the needs of our editors and writers. I knew forms in and out.
The great year of 2005. The web was being re-invented. New techniques were being developed to do things without refreshing pages, and drag & drop on the browser. I was already on my own doing mostly consulting and ready to something interesting. I created JotForm. People loved it. The rest is history.
I still help people create forms. Millions and millions of it.
